Family Practitioner/General Practitioner - Cascade Medical Clinic (Full Time Permanent) - TWO POSITIONS


The Cascade Medical Centre is a primary care clinic offering a wide range of services for acute and chronic care. This clinic is supported by a recently updated EMR (Med Access), a full complement of administrative support staff and is conveniently attached to the Princeton General Hospital. The Cascade clinic offers appointments for regular office visits, Rapid Access appointments, chronic disease management/complex care visits as well as appointments for minor procedures.

The community of Princeton is currently staffed with four GP's and two part-time NP's and is currently seeking one GP for our busy clinic and hospital. We have a 6 bed inpatient hospital with a 24 hour ER, which is attached to the Cascade Medical Centre. Our main referral centre is Penticton, which is located about 75 minutes away. Princeton has a variety of visiting clinics for medical specialists on a regular basis, with more to come.

Hours of work: Clinic hours of work: Monday to Friday 9 am to 4:30 pm, which may be modified as per physician's preferences. On call requirements: 1:4 currently, will be 1:5 with the addition of one GP.


  • Eligible for The College of Family Physicians of Canada Cert. (CCFP)
  • Doctorate in Medicine
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS)
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support Certification (ATLS)
  • Emergency experience
  • For those interested, there may be opportunities to do outreach,locums or other short-term work within other Interior Health Communities.

The Princeton Health Care Steering Committee provides the mechanism for Interior Health, the Town of Princeton, the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen, the Support Our Health Care (SOHC) Society, Princeton General Hospital, the Cascade Medical Clinic, and Ridgewood Lodge to work together to support stable, sustainable and accessible health care in the area.

A New Model

PHCSC is working to develop a New Model of Health Care that will:

  • Provide security and confidence to the people of Princeton and surrounding areas that their health care needs will be met
  • Provide an important element to economic growth and a healthy community
  • Provide effective and honourable transitioning for physicians i.e. retirement process
